SCP


SCP is a fan fiction driven collection of paranormal beings kept contained for scientific study by the SCP Organiazation. A search for SCP on Youtube brings up hundreds of examples of beings and phenomenon which SCP has interacted. This matters to games because Control and Remnant, games released months apart, seem to be aware and use this for the backdrop of their own narrative, a narrative which already also seemed aware of Beyond The Black Rainbow, X-Files, X-Men, Silent Hill, the Montauk Project, etc...


Beyond The Black Rainbow

For years after the film's release I would check articles, videos, blogs, all of google to be direct, periodically knowing some film theorist or some sync wizard or esoteric this or that to write...well, anything(?) about the movie's rich setting and creepy unexplained happenings or symbolism or Cold War timing in relation to SRI and MK-Ultra, I mean I thought somebody would at least find what I did, with the Eleven, EL, Elena, and Christa from Ascension all telling identical stories of a genetically preselected young lady with psychic, telepathic, telekinetic, and other evolved human potential adaptations sort of the way it's explained in the X-Men, via Jean with Grey alien Genes, Gray, X-Files with the holy trinity of Mulder Scully and their son as well as Gibson boy wonder genius and dangerously globally recognized chess champion. All of these characters, EXACTLY like in Control the game, and Beyond The Black Rainbow, and Stranger Things, are monitored through 2 way glass by someone with a psychology background employed by the military and or intelligence interests, all three works dependent on oppressive surrealist color schemes blurring the glass dividing the main characters and the horrors they deploy on each other. In Control, BTBR, and Stranger Things our female lead suffers immense trauma at the hands of some Mengele/Ewan Cameron esque psychopath playing doctor, pretending to be Xavier watching over his alienated flock, when in fact they are getting paid to be awful "bad cops" to enforce a trauma based mind control relationship with the severely isolated girls. Some of these visual cues can be traced back to other films of the 80's mostly such as Firestarter, Carrie, Flight Of the Navigator, World On A Wire, the director Panos Cosmotas-(err something like that lol) also made the film Cobra, a gritty 80's era Stallone picture not unlike Escape From LA visually, which signals the director's preference of dreamy color schemes forcing forms all the way into abstract and as lighting changes, as the color red so often is used to blind the audience like the sensation of staring into the sun or a spot light reducing all the forms around it into the abstract until focused in to reveal the blurred forms were living beings staring intensely at the camera, if not Elena fast asleep or the creepy chapter of BTBR involving the inorganic sensaunauts (this concept is one that I struggle with defining clearly, on the one hand they appear a nonorganic, quite clinical acting humanoid robot being who performs medical like procedures, inspections, or minimally the control exhibited on the consciousness of their victim/patient, on the other hand, this seems creepy and perverse and like one more way Barry compartmentalizes his own madness or at least justifies the reason for his behavior and decision making. The sensaunauts also happen to be quite tall and lanky, physically resembling Barry if he wore the sensaunaut suit and assumed there roll as some sick roll play to remove himself from the truth of the matter that he also plays the roll of a being or beings, who administers physical pain, manipulates the memory of their victims, drugs them to put it simply, perhaps is tasked by some agency or interest group to attempt to keep their subjects in a constant state of fight or flight survival functioning so that although constantly pushed to the edge of their own psyches via starvation, isolation, drugs, and the very specific targeting of and interrogation regarding memories and concepts which function as triggers to the individual after being made to live in conditions meant to trigger anyone. These techniques, of course, were learned through the torture and experimentation from WW2 to at least the end of the Cold War, if it ever even ended which is debatable at least staying alive under different titles, probably rapidly moving from organization to organization or from graduating class to secret societies running wall street and other institutions are largely thought to govern themselves in unbiased and a fair manner-somehow. In all aspects of the subprojects of things learned in MK-Ultra, such as electro stimulation of different areas of the brain, electronic means of memory erasure and creation, stimulation of psychospirritual communication centers in the brain, the development of a Sylva mind control method like school of creative visualization and manifestation through heavy concentration and the ability to channel these abilities in tandem by invoking first and mental distraction or ultimate focus either of which can act as a foundation for flow states where higher regions of the brain are accessed, very similar to the way breath can enter and heal regions of the body neglected by not getting enough breath can cause illness and mental dirtiness. Remember his methods come largely informed from Esalen/SRI like New Age "mental sculpting" and other silly counter culture language for practices such as meditation, creative visualization, heroic doses of psychedelics administered as an aspect of the mental trials he endures while seemingly raised in a cult like atmosphere, where he himself is certainly the aim of and catalyst of extreme violence and trauma, we are given the audio cues to assume he murdered his mother in a highly disturbing attack which occurred decades ago at the height of one of these psychedelic trials, which for all intensive purposes, seemed to entirely possess Barry causing a mental split which he attempts to keep under control by taking a periodic regiment of some kind of pharma psych aid we can assume are antipsychotics for anything from his brooding and certainly dangerous bouts of depression, common mania, ptsd from his experiences in the cult, or from the moral toll of being employed by what we may assume is The Agency, or The Company, and working in a kind of Ewan Cameron/Mengele like capacity, accented by a kind of, Jose Delgado like brand of excitement, and joy which apparently manifests from the electronic evolution of ultimate technocratic control over human behavior and emotion, entertaining the few other people he has contact with with small talk and masked emotion, it seems every line delivered comes from some will to upset deeply, all those who surround him are his unintelligent slaves to be mocked from the safe distance of calculating cold facades which Barry probably constructed years before the events of the film we view in BTBR and during a time when his psychopathology perhaps was not fully formed, fully successfully weaponized, perhaps he is more confused and deeply in pain, maybe there was a major crack in his psyche, one which makes the events of the film seem minor in comparison. It seems the whole time the actor is holding a flood up with his mask and perhaps there was a major psychotic break where he became unable to reign in a horribly destructive intelligence which he views as separate but ultimately in control of his mind and being. We see how pitiful he becomes when threatened, we see the scared child eyes blackened over to distance the sins within from the sins committed by the flesh. What I'm descibing is his change in facial expression and tone while getting the call where he, in my opinion is discussing a list of abductees and confirming certain individuals have been taken or tagged, maybe just mind controlled to believe something helpful to the agency during these years of the Cold War.

BTBR is at least about concepts centered around 1980's UFOlogy and the alien abduction and or MILAB phenomenon, all at once.
Val Valerian (whose actual name is supposedly John Grace) wrote a few massive tomes that may remind the reader of similar thinkers which are quite rare in the field orbiting alien visitation, such as Eva Lorgen, James Bartley, Aug Tellez, and the closest body of information one can compare with his work in general is the exotic curriculum set forth in Nothing In This Book Is True But It's Exactly the Wat Things Are by Bob Frissel, a kind of interpretation and channeling involving a guy Gordan Michael Scallion, Val, and Maynard James Keenan all mention as suggested reading, the information channeled by the supposedly ascended master, Drunalo Melchidavek. Val's greatest contribution to UFOLogy if not lost humanity from the times of Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu, and some kind of Martian falllout and or war involving physical merkabas which can be meditated on to surround and teleport, for lack of a better term, the astral form throughout time and space like a time machine made of concentration of transcendent forms. This brings us to Val's most favored and essential text, which the newcomer will not find for under $500-2000, so it's safe to assume Val would also suggest you just read the pdfs available a few places, this vital body of work would be the "Matrix" books series; Some of the books interior pages, can be seen littered throughout the strange book which ejects from a wall in BTBR. The book is briefly scanned in nervous and shocked horror by the nurse/secretary woman (who becomes cruel in a similar bad cop manner to Elena as the film goes on) who promptly returns the book to the odd compartment in the wall. Some of the strange illustrations seen in the books for fractions of seconds are directly from the pen and ink art of the Matrix books. Some of the most disturbing kind of transdimensional sex possession vs. PLF versions of the popular gray alien, the kind of satanism and Monarch satanic panic sounding conspiracies become immediately tainted by a new age and above top secret knowledge of conspiracies those that perpetuate them, disinformation campaigns run from the offices of officialdom sometimes in concert with other agencies at the expense of the lives and sanity of many a curious researcher. These campaigns can be waged via fear, ridicule, humor, they can be in the form of written stories or testimony, bogus official documentation, the inflation and seeking out of those who are not stable and bring nothing helpful to the table to be the next youtube alien channeling authority or quirky new age messiah, and this is continued as entire science fiction narratives are fed from official sources down to serious researchers who don't look so serious after reporting back to a field of their peers, nonsense entrusted to them by Air Force vets or men from The Company promising the truth and unnatural alliances, in exchange for amplification of an idea bound to ruin a researcher and his or her ideas. It's designed to do that and it still does.
In Dark City we see a very similar tale to these other stories of the oppression and traumatization of an individual, and there is an individual in Dark City coming to terms with their advanced mental powers as a direct result of said trauma and the physiological adjustment to potential previously thought impossible or the creations of no more than men's minds throughout our fictional stories, and all the power we have stops at the internal sculpting of our imaginary relationship to our outer interactions.

We've been programmed to think the only thing we can control is our attitude and feeling, we are comforted with the concept of influencing our own minds to function better from a more positive place, and we do not seek a more powerful function, we are programmed to accept none of us can evolve and mutate, none of us can use that will, that skill at inner sculpting, for instantaneous outer manifestation also due to programming dictating that we should never accept philosophies which condone and strengthen ourselves, that one of the worst sins we could commit would be to view ourselves like gods, but we choke daily on a system which like Dark City allows for some numb nuts race of mind parasite jelly fish to control the eerily floating bodies of our long dead, part zombie, part Nossferateu, a species of underground people who control the machinations of the outer world, this is just like the way the creatures known as Dero, supposedly utilize their own consciousness TUNING technology, from the inner earth to control the fate of mankind as is preached in old pulp sci-fi magazines and comics, supposedly true and very strange tales of Richard Shaver, Willy Ley, Philip K Dick, and Ray Palmer which provide many hand drawn pictures of the Dero and the supposed subterranean worlds which house their surface molding machines. Unlike the Dero the Stranger from Dark City don't exist on this planet but a flat earth sort of Holllywood set they've built to house their zoo of intelligent creatures tragically unaware of their own potential. Like BTBR at the end of the film, the Strangers like Barry is desperate to never lose control over his subjects, his experiments, this is the Strangers fighting John Murdoch at the end of the film, shattering the Saturn machine's control time and the lives of those fastened to it's watch like assembly line of gears, ripping apart the fabric of the city all shifting and contorting to fit the instruction of the haywire machine.

The true psychopaths in both films are obsessed possibly largely fueled by violence. Consciousness and sleep, memory and dreams these are taken for granted with both parties of psychopaths, nearly alien in there violence and depth, missing the parable they set about to answer regarding the human bio computer being powered by the heart and not the brain or intellect. The science educated men who are the doctors in Stranger Things and BTBR are dangerously analytic, religiously scientific, and hopelessly ignorant of the divine feminine and her gifts of intuition and imagination and psyche, this is why they abuse the archetypal feminine to the point of utter trauma induced paralysis and then they push more using trauma as the bullet and the trigger.

You may recall the X-Men Origins film which begins with Kevin Bacon as Nazi Hellfire Occultist Sebastion Shaw, who proceeds to traumatize a young Jewish Eric (Magneto) finally shooting his begging weeping mother in the head, which is done quite on purpose, to observe the extent to which Eric's powers will blossom in utter agony. We see this attempt to trigger extrasensory power with the use of trip chair (proposed to be an element of the very Stranger Things like torture and training of the Montauk Boys, for the Montauk Project which would utilize Nazi science, contemporary occultism for it's time, and ideas from throughout history on how to make a super soldier, travel time, use frequencies and electronic equipment to amplify a concentrated mental image or idea, a page from the hashish cult of asssassins, another from the Romans, one from Psyops another from special forces, and a few dabs of intelligence and espionage, with a spot of sexual abuse from the family. Exactly like Dr.Schriber in Dark City staring single eyed into the microscope, playing with the alchemy of the human soul, the texture of human memory dragged across years of experience, like the trip chair esque devices in Divergents and Serenity as well as Call of Duty Black Ops, the trip chair plays a vital role in the Montauk project itself.

The game Control has all these elements of the psychologist, the two way glass, the smoldering reds and oppressively black and oranges, the clinical mix of fluorescent bulbs and federal buildings walls. You play as a kind of Jean Grey Scully hybrid stuck in a Hideo Kojima David Lynch nightmare.
